MeteoSwiss, the national weather service, provides free weather warnings for a variety of severe weather conditions.
MeteoSwiss offers a free personalised SMS and/or E-Mail service to provide you with the right information at the right place and time. You choose!
How do I register for the free notification service?
- select the required notification type (SMS and/or E-Mail
- enter the postcode for the area that you are interested in. Each postcode is linked to one of the 138 warning areas
- select the required warnings (e.g. wind, rain, snow or storm) by selecting the required warning level
- note that if you select a low warning level then the higher levels will also be selected automatically; you can deactivate these if required
It is possible to select several different warning types with corresponding warning levels - select "Register". You will then be asked to enter your mobile phone number and provider (also required for E-Mail notifications) and enter the visible safety code.
- After "sending" you will receive your PIN by SMS on your mobile phone.
- Enter your PIN on the Web site.
Stop your subscription
You can cancel your SMS or E-Mail notification by choosing "My registrations" (Navigation bar).
